The Larema Song

The Larema song was written and produced for The BIG FIX Uganda in 2017. Steve Jay Omar and Emmanuel Otim, two exceptionally talented Acholi artists, wrote and recorded the song as part of our Art for Animals project. The aim of this creative endeavor was to reach more people with our message of compassion for animals and people.

Larema means “my friend” in the local language, Luo. The song is an educational anthem celebrating kindness to dogs and the powerful friendships they offer. Today, it is a cherished part of our celebrations and parades, spreading joy and reminding us of all the ways that dogs bring good into our lives.
